A tarot journal for iPhone
TareOh reads the question you actually typed — the hedge, the word you used twice, the thing you asked around instead of asking.
Seven historical decks. A journal with no account, no feed, and nothing built to pull you back.
What's on your mind?
A holistic, modern approach to the Tarot.
What a reading actually does
The Language panel quotes what you wrote back to you — the phrase you repeated, the decision you'd already made before you asked.
Ask for a Plain Answer and you get one sentence, not a paragraph of soft hedging dressed up as insight.
It refuses the request, not the subject. Write about an illness, a death or a lawsuit and you get a reading. Ask it to diagnose, to advise as a lawyer, or to stand in for emergency help, and it declines at two layers, with a reason.
It reads the cards, not your life. Ask something with a flat shape and Answer gives you a yes, a no or a season — and names the cards it came from. It won't invent a card, a meaning or a pattern.
Candlelight
Read what strangers asked, in their own words. Put yours on the table if you want to. A person approves every post before anyone else sees it, and it is gone in a week.
“Should I ask for a raise now?”

“Almost cancelled the consult.”

“The weekend, not the wedding.”

no name · a week · take it back any time
Examples, not real posts. Nothing anyone wrote appears on this website.
You light it
A reading leaves your phone only when you lay it on the table.
A person reads it
Austin approves every post before anyone else can see it.
It burns down
A week, then it is gone. Take it back sooner whenever you like.
The reading
Every reading opens by restating what you asked — not an interpretation, a restatement. If it lands wrong, you've learned something about how you phrased it. If it lands right, the wording was doing more work than you thought.
Underneath sit the cards you drew and what you noticed in them. Pin any panel to the journal and it becomes an entry you can return to months later, if the same question comes back wearing different clothes.
Language
You wrote “safe” twice without landing on why — as though the word itself was doing the deciding instead of you.
What you noticed
I said “safe” twice without meaning to.

Private by default
Your journal, readings and notes are stored on your phone. No login, no profile. Nothing you write is kept on a server unless you choose to share it in Candlelight, and a shared post stays only until it expires or you take it back. The app keeps an automatic copy of your journal in a TareOh folder in the Files app — in your own iCloud Drive where that is available, on the phone itself where it is not — and you can switch it off. That copy is yours; TareOh never receives it.
When a reading is interpreted, your question, the cards and your deck are sent to be read — with your name and pronouns if you entered them, and a slice of past questions if you have History on. The text is not kept afterwards. The privacy policy says exactly what leaves the device and when, in plain sentences.
A record you can't search is a diary. A record that reports back to someone is a product. This is the first one.
Ten free readings a week. TareOh Plus raises that to forty a day and six hundred a month; only your own API key is uncapped.
